Longevity

Ji, a Korean factory worker and single mother, is contacted by Ann, an older Danish doctor who owns a global pharmaceutical company. Ann hires Ji to risk her life in a medical experiment which, through gene modification, is intended to make Ji’s body produce the healing substance Ann needs to survive. The experiment is successful and creates a deep connection between the two women.
However the exchange ends up not only costing Ji her good health, but also her relationship to her daughter, who is seduced by Ann’s wealth and easy affection. As Ji grows deathly ill, Ann adopts Ji’s daughter. But Ji does not die: as an unforeseen effect of the experiment, Ji is reborn as a genetically identical copy of Ann, and she takes over Ann’s wealth and opportunities with her daughter as heir.
